Thread: Gm Fuel Line Flaring Kit

IM looking for some help from you guys that have been there, done that. As much as I love to work on the older cars and hate to work on the newer ones, I find myself always coming across this GM type flair used in fuel lines and power steering. You know the ones with the little rubber seal on the end. Does anyone have a trick to making these ? I have searched the net and have only found one tool made by mastercool. I pride myself on buying good tools to work with, but this thing is a bit $$$. Any help would be great!

i believe the flare your talking about is called an iso flare. they trained use to make them at gm training center, my local snap-on, matco, and maybe mac dealers have the tool but i can bet there more than the one you found. hope this helps

Thanks for the reply. I can't find anything about this flare under ISO, bit I find it under GM fuel line flair. Try www.mastercool.com/m54.html to see what IM talking about. This unit is a bit out of my price range.

that what i thought it was iso is just what the gm instructor called it back in 94. you could always make your lines and take it to a shop that has the tool and see if they'll flare it at a resonable price

the mastercool kit is well worth the money. I have the full set and flaring is simple with it, and perfect every time. If you do a lot of flaring work, or you just want to do it yourself with no hassle, this tool is the way to go.
