Buster8,
I have costed out the RodnRace body versus several others and it is the cheapest for just the body if you want a hiboy sans fenders. When you add in the price of fenders (and the fun of alignment of the fenders during mounting) the Bebops kit looks to be a little cheaper and seems to have a reasonable reputation for quality. There is also another 'glass body which shares (copies?) the fenders+floor design originated (?) by Bebops at the Heritage site. Others on this Forum have complained about the quality of the Heritage bodies but it has recently come under new management and the quality is supposed to be better. My wife requires that I have fenders so I am favoring Bebops for medium cost and good quality, but if you have to have fenders at low cost take a cautious look at the Heritage site. One other factor is that the guy at RodnRace would not say that a HEI distributor on a SBC would fit their firewall so you may have to use a points distributor or modify the RodnRace firewall to use an HEI distributor on a SBC. Note Bebops also makes a hiboy body kit sans fenders that I think is intended for a '32 frame. Then again, have you looked at the '27 T roadster offered by Speedway Motors? A '27 roadster can be pretty neat and Speedway offers the chassis as well. Shipping from Speedway might be low for your location and fenders can be adapted. I prefer the '29 since I have to think about my wife's preference for doors on a car!
Summary:
1. Cheapest '29 hiboy, RodnRace; Cheapest '27 Loboy, Speedway
2. Cheapest fendered kit, Heritage
3. Cheapest fendered kit, better quality, Bebops
4. Outlaw makes a cheap A-coupe, no roadster.
