    Question 340 trans

    Will a 340 bolt up to a 904 trans.
Or do I have to get a 727.
If so do you know where I can get one?

Maby I'm wrong but, a 904 is the smallblock trans, 727 is the big block trans so yes it will fit.

    727 trans

A 340 will bolt to either a 727 or a 904. A 727 is just stronger. A lot of 360s as well as 340s run 727s as well as the big blocks.

There are small block 727's and big block 727's, bolt pattern is different for each.
