continued, olds 4.3 v8 in 80 malibu
Ok, to whom it may concern, I posted a few weeks back about putting an olds 4.3l v8 in an 80 malibu. I was ask why I didn't just put in a sbc motor, the reasons for that being, a: I don't have a sbc motor OR tranny to put in, and b: I DO have the sbo motor and tranny to put in. I was also told that I need the frame mounts out of a g-body olds to make the swap. I did finally track down the mounts, and have them in the car. Now, my question is, Does anyone know what the distance between the drift pin holes on the mounts needs to be? I Matched the mounts up as best as I could against the cutlass I pulled them from, but I would really like to make sure before I pick up the motor and put it in. (right now the motor is about 15 miles away from me) I haven't measured the distance on the mounts in the malibu yet, and I haven't made it to where the motor sits to measure the distance on the motor mounts them selves. If anyone knows off hand, it would be a big help. Thanks in advance.

ok, I measured the distances between, and it's 14 1/4" at the bottom of the slots, and 15" at the top, seems to be the same distances back and front.
