    oil pump gone?

    Hi,
I have a problem and I posted a thread three days ago and no one has answered. So now I will ask a different question:

How do you find out if the oil pump in a 700 transmission has broken?
How do you find out if your Torque converter has gone?
What would the car do in such cases?

    THX!
    Harharhar...

You can check the pressure by placing a gage in the port on the L/H side of the trans.you should see a pressure of 35-75 psi. The converter is a little dificult to tell if the car does not move. If the car is drivable you may notice a higher then normal engine rpm and a reduction in your fuel milage. hays trans manual has a troubleshooting section that is very helpfull. good luck!
