- 140 gph fuel pump with filter in front of it
- factory q-jet, with no choke though I still have the hot air and electric choke parts
- filter on the q-jet as well

waht can the reasons be when i started it back up it took me like 2 minutes the engine would idle but i felt there was sudden loss of fuel delivery and the ignition would shut off well through this time my tank was half full and pump seemed to be working cuz i heard the sound... plz help any advice will b appreciated... or are all carburators like thisneed to b taught

Sounds like it's starving for fuel, check the filters or screens in the tank for debris and then the regular fuel filter on the Q jet and pump filter. 1 of them has debris and plugs up after a while. It may also be the fuel pump, 140 GPH may be to much for that Q jet, in idle situations, it floods up, when it starts to fluxuate, look back and see if theres any black smoke coming from the tail pipe, if there is, it's idiling to rich as cause of possibly pumping too much fuel.Last edited by Matt167; 11-15-2004 at 05:22 PM.
