    Question Wheel alignment

All, I have a superbell 4 inch dropped axle with a TCI 4 bar kit supporting the front of my rod. How do I align this puppy?

Set it with 5 degrees positive caster (positive caster means the top of the kingpins are inclined 5 degrees to the rear).

Set the toe-in to 1/8" for radial tires, 3/16" for bias belted.

The camber is set by the angle of the kingpins. It's not adjustable except with a hydraulic press.

Those are the settings. Do you know how to measure and adjust?

What I'm giving you is only a home setup to get it close. You should have the final done by an alignment shop that knows how to handle solid axles.

First, you need to have your car sitting on the ground, ride height, and ready to roll.

Here's one way to set toe-in:

    http://home.epix.net/~jlartin/toein.html

    Another way:
    - At axle level, and at the front of the front tires, measure the distance from the center of the left tire to the center of the right tire.
    - Make the same measurement at the back of the front tires.
    - The measurement at the front should be 1/8" less than the back.
    - If it isn't, adjust the tie rod ends until it is.

Setting caster is a little harder, but you can get close by setting your upper 4-bar about 3/4" shorter than the lower. That should tilt the axle back 5-7 Degrees.
