needing experteice on custom chassis work.
I am currently building a 1952 ford f1 truck, and I have a very tight budget. I am wanting to upgrade the front suspension. I have done lots of research on different options such as Ifs kits, and using donor cars for the front clip. I happen to have a 1974 chevrolet monte carlo that I bought for a parts car, for another project build. I have heard of people using a camaro front clip for the ifs before. Does the camaro and monte carlo have a similar frame design? If anybody has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.

IFS
I think the monty frame kicks out toward the outside of the car at about were the fire wall is. The Camaro frame does not so that would be a better choice as well as a nova. On a side note, we just finished installing a Fox body mustang IFS on a 53 Ford truck. If anyone could post photos I could provide them as the truck is still here.

Hi Paul, I'd love to see some shots of that IFS. I've got a 55 F-100 that I've been kicking around, was planning on a 77 LTD (from info I got here, Thanks CHR!), but like having as much info as possible. My e-mail is in my profile, or simply, info@34k.com
Thanks
Matt

Thanks paul, and mike for your advice. I would really like to see the work you have done on the 53'. I think I will stick it out a little longer in search of a camaro or nova front clip, especialy since you get the truck a lot lower. thanks

1952 ford truck
I am also building a 1952 ford. i just broke down and bought a mustang II IFS. these kits are very simple to install. average welding skills ,and you can do one in a weekend. A little info though, don"t need the power rack had power on one, and manual on another pickup . manual works great and you dont have to worry about pump hoses or leaking problems. Besides one can get a basic IFS kit for about 1200.00 to 1300.00 bucks and this is hub to hub.
