    S 10 disk brakes on 89 caprice

I have a 1948 chevy channeled over a 1989 Caprice chassis (cop car with disk brakes) Would S 10 rotors fit because I am told the S 10 would move the wheels 1 in. inboard . I am having trouble with tire rub on full turn. Thanks Jim

dont think so, but you cant change just the off set of the rotor no way, then the brake pads wouldnt line up. you would have to change the spindles and rotors but i think s10 is dif than the Caprice.

No, when I up graded to the larger 11" brakes using the chevell type calipers, your also supose to use the rotor as well, (It is a chevy car) but the tire-fender problem arose. I tried the S10 that is 1" smaller between the wheel bolt face and the outer disc face.
This is what I was told in a previous post that is why I thought it might work Thanks Jim

i must not under stand what you are doing, but you cant change a rotor that is any dif shape or form in size than what your brake calipers are made for. if you lay the rotor on the floor and its 10" round and 2" deep that the only thing you can use. i dont see how a rotor can give you a dif off set no way. the spindle can give a dif. off set. if the s10 rotor fits why not put it on.

The difference is only from the outside of the rotor face to the wheel bolt face. Rotor to caliper position is the same.
