front end too high
I just rebuilt my front and rear suspension with a pst front end kit, also replaced all four shocks with kyb gr2 shocks. Everything went together fine but it seems the front end is very high in the air, its almost like a lowrider. The car drives fine but looks funny. Anyone know what would cause this? The car is a 74 Nova SS. I also replace the rear shackles and eye bushings.

You're not supposed to tighten the control arm bushing bolts until the car is at ride height. Loosen 'em up, let the car drop to ride height, then re-tighten 'em.PLANET EARTH, INSANE ASYLUM FOR THE UNIVERSE.

tech is absolutely correct, you want the car sitting on the ground or have the full weight of the car on the suspension (ie drive on lift) before you tighten everything up. In actuallity, you may want to drive the car a bit and then loosen and retighten again.

front end
I like to bounce the front end up and down by jumping on the bumper . then snug everything up . Unless you have fiberglass bumpers of course.

its funny,i have done the same thing to my 57 chevy 210 wagon.all bushings and leaf/shackles and even replaced with the exact same shocks as you.And i to have the same problem. The rear is fine, but the front is sitting high.
So,are we talking upper control arm bushing bolts,or lower,or both?BTW,if this doesn't do the trick, what is the best method for lowering, new spindles, springs or airbag shocks?

OK,So i went ahead this morning and did like suggested.Loosened both Upper and lowers, jumped up and dwn on the bumper, then retightened them.Actually it dropped...maybe 1/2 an inch is all.
So,now i ask again, what is the opinions on the best methods, verses the cost of lowering the front end.Cut Coils, buy another set of springs fro some other make/model,or the drop spindles? As you can see from my picture in the above,i probably would need a 2 to 3 inch drop to make it look awesome.
Thanks for any replies,

I had the same problem when I rebuilt my vette back in 92. I had purchased a set of aftermarket poly coated springs that were supposed to have the same spring rate as the originals. Out of the car the new springs looked to be about 4 inches shorter than the stock ones. The originals had more turns but were taller. The car didn't sit right when I finished. Too high in the front. I thought I put them in wrong somehow. The shop I bought them from told me to let the car settle as my originals had done over the past 40 or so years. It didn't. Vettes never had a stance higher in the front. I ended up pulling them back out and put the originals back in. It sits right now.

Well, i never said i had replced the coil springs.i replaced rear leaf spring bushings and shocks.and the front just the upper/lower control arm bushings.i loosened then as prescibed above and don't really see a big difference.i just want to know opinions on the best methos for lowerering front end.
Thanks for your repliy,
