Question 1939 Dodge D11 Front Suspension

I have an original '39 Dodge D11 2-door. It is a running, driving original car as is. I want to start to go towards the street rod side. I thought the first step would be to get the front suspension done, as well as the steering, then I can start to mock-up for the engine and tranny. Does anyone know of a company who makes a crossmember for my car that can use a Mustang II suspension? Has anyone ever tried to use a Dakota or Durango front suspension? I don't mind using the Mustang II if that is the best way to go. If not, I want to stick with something Mopar. Help Please!

There was a similar thread about a month ago concerning a '38 touring. You might PM the author of the last post for additional information.

Keep '39 origianl IFS suspension or go different.

Hi, I'm a newby. I have a 1939 Dodge 2-door sedan which I'm rodding. Its motor-vation will be a 241 cube Baby Ram Hemi with a Ford 9-inch rear end. I just want to clear this in my muddled mind. Mr. Bud, are you retaining the original IFS but adding the rack and pinion and disc brakes? Thanks.

Thanks for answering so quickly. Does the Chevy rack and column come from Plydo or a salvage yard?

Try Fatman's Fabrications out of Charlotte NC they have M2 frame stubs for 34 - 56 Dodges. www.fatmanfab.com

My M2 in my 34 Plymouth was from Progressive Automotive out of Baltimore Ohio. www.progressiveautomotive.com
