51 Merc- air ride
I'm working on a 51 Merc for a friend who is currently in Iraq . It's on an 83 olds frame, and he has purchased air bags for it. I've never installed them and don't know about setting up for minimum heights so he can park it down and not damage the bags. The cars is no where near completed so the weight on each wheel is not established.

some bags also have internal stops in them, such as slam bags..
what you do is set it to lay out wherever you want it and then set up the bags to be collapsed at that point. if you need to buy anything for this, go to suicidedoors.com they have all you'll need, just don't get air-lift bags,, they've been having probs with their bags blowinCHOP IT UP!!!!!!!

Well I would not reccomend setting the car up to sit on the internal stops when it is slammed........The correct way would be to set the car up at ride height usually 4in or so! the ride hieght on most bags is anywhere from 5 to 8 inches depending on which bag it is (2500to2600series)
That being said if your ride hieght is 4 and your bag is installed at 8 then when the car is layed out and the frame is on the ground you will not hurt the bags because they will not be totally deflated!
2600 collapsed 3in, ride hieght 8 to 8.5in, extended lenght 12in
If your wife has a friend that annoys you don't tell your wife to stop being friends with her. Just casually mention how pretty she is... .
