I'm not sure about your car john but the frame will fit under my 40 buick. I plan on tubing the rear so I'll have room for the control arms and the moubting points. As far as the U bolts on the rear end they just hold the rear end and spring together, the spring pad is welded onto the rear end tube and it takes the tourque. Make sure the spring pad you get has a big enough hole for the center bolt in the spring to fit into it. Also if your using the original springs I would take them to a spring shop and have them checked , they crack and lose tension.
