    V8, and front end for 62 nova advantages, must. 2 front end over bolt on?

     



    I am building a convertible Nova 2 and want to put disk brakes on the front end as well as a 350. I would like to know where the best equipment for this can be found and if bolt on works good compared to the mustang 2 front clip. Not real into tearing the whole dog house off to just get disk brakes. Putting a V-8 in I think only requiers motor mounts and new heavier springs.

    Looking to put V8, disk brakes on front end, and frame stifferners, and new rear endprobablly 9" ford. I need information on best way of doing this build.

    Heidt's makes a replacement assembly for the entire front frame. It comes complete with motor mounts installed. Inner fender panels are also available. A bit spendy, but you said you wanted the best........

    I put a 327 in a '63 many years ago. The factory Nova setup, for a smallblock, is a front sump pan, special oil pump pickup, and a special bellhousing and flywheel, for stick shifts. There are a lot of aftermarket parts out there, and I think you'd have better luck going that way.

    If you stay with the stock front suspension you will need to do something with the oil pan. Either the factory front sump or Moroso makes a rear sump in both a street and track version with a notch in it for steering clearance.

    Versions like the Heidt system, and there are others too, solve all kinds of problems including the pan and exhaust clearance. They are generally a little lighter too. Most I have seen are a complete bolt in, no welding required. The way Chevy shoulda dun it in the first place.
