    31 ford 4dr frame help

I am trying to restore a 31 ford 4dr I really am trying to find a frame to use that I can put under the body with some fabrication so I have better steering disc brakes in the front. I have no idea were to start looking for what kind of car or truck frame will work. I also am looking to beable to lower the car to the the ground.
    Thanks David

Well, to begin with, what you are planning is not called "restoring" it is called hot rodding. Restoring means to bring the car back to original manufacturers specs.
You will not find a late model car or truck frame that will fit under your A without some major surgery on the frame. You need to pick up a couple of Street Rodder Mags and look through the ads. TONS of stuff out there from bolt ons to complete chassis...
A good four bar frontend with disc brakes and a triangulated four bar out back with an S10 Blazer diff will get you in the ball park. Do some surgery on the original frame (or buy one done) to drop it.

"A" frames are fairly easy to fabricate with 2 x 4 11 ga. rectangular tubing. If you want it lowered, then use a kickup in the rear and "Z" the front. This tubing may be a bit overkill for an "A" frame, but it won't flex, twist, and crack like a channel frame.
