48 chevy suspenion
whats up fellas, as you know that a 47 chevy coupe(fleetline) is a big heavy car. what i would like to know what is a good engine set up, trans, suspenion, and a rear end. i want this car to be a daily driver. and most at current gas prices i do not want to buy stock in exxon to keep gas in it. but i do want to have a little fun some times. i wish i had the cash for a good 4 link air ride but lets face it thats not going to happpen right now. maybe later. any words of advice that any one could give me would be great. thanx!!!

My '48 regular sedan really isn't as heavy as you would think, when I had mine where it was just body and frame I could lift either end with ease. As far as suspension and drive train the sky is the limit. It would all depend on your talent, your budget and what you like. I personally went with a Mustang II front suspension, camaro rear w/the stock springs and a 305 automatic for milage right now. If I was to do it over again I would have put in a camaro sub-frame in the front, I drove one that did and it drove smoother and easier than mine. You'll find alot of build pics in the "everybody that is currently building" thread."Sunshine, a street rod and a winding beautiful Ozarks road is truely Bliss!"
Thank you Roger. .
