1936 rear springs
My 36 5 window coupe has leaf springs in the rear with 6 leaves on each side. It rides terible. I took out two leaves on each side and did not improve it much. I hesitate to take out any mor, but might try it. If anyone has any suggestions, other than buying new springs, I would appreciate it. I think the springs are Posies or Chassis Engineering. James

Were the front and rear bushings tightened with the rear hanging or under load? If they were tightened while hanging then they are preloaded for bind when the weight of the car is put on them. Also check to see if you are getting sufficient travel on the shocks and not bottoming out. I've had suspensions with both the systems you've mentioned and the ride wasn't horrible. Firm, but compliant once broken in (takes a few hundred miles and they will sag from initial height).Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon
It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.
