rear springs?
I have a 57 210, I don't think the springs in the rear are original. but I'm not sure. There are 5 leafs if that helps. and there are traction bars running under them. this was all installed when I purchased the car a few months back. My problem is that the car bounces like crazy. I don't know much about this car yet, and I'm not sure if thats normal... I would like to smoothe out the ride if possible, any suggestions would be helpfull

Tom, "bounces like crazy" sounds like shock absorbers are shot. Gas shocks will give you the best all around performance and ride. First thing you should do is check all the suspension components to make sure there isn't something broken, bent, or loose. Also, check the upper shock mount points on the rear. They're often prone to stress cracking around the mount points. If so, you'll need to repair those areas before replacement. Most of the "classic" chevy outlets sell patch pieces that also act as reinforcement.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon
