Welcome to CHR Den. The quarter eliptical springs were used on cars a bunch of years ago, and have made something of a return in popularity lately. They work ok, but do have some lateral stability issues. Seems everything old is new again!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Welcome Denis. There are lots of options when you are considering suspension systems and this has always been an area of interest to me. Like Dave said, the quarter-elliptical springs have made a big resurgence in the past couple of years, especially in fenderless cars. Another type of suspension that I favor, but has never been really popular because they tend to be misunderstood, is torsion bars. I have used torsion bars in the front of my last 3 hotrods and in the rear of a friend's Anglia. If they are installed proprly they ride great and ride height is adjustable. In my '31 Ford coupe I am using a '62 Jeep station wagon front axle with AMC disc brakes and hairpin radius rods suspended by '86 Nissan pickup torsion bars. Take a look at my gallery and you can see a few pics of them...Jim

Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
