Foose lowering
Trying to find information on lowering techniques that Foose uses on the cars he does on overhaulin. How does he drop them and get the larger wheel/tire under the car?

Some have been done with air bags, some with lowering components in the suspension. No big deal putting them butt ugly wheels on, the outside diameter of the tire remains almost the same, not much problem with fitment.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

If you watch long enough, sometimes they do have fitment problems, and have to switch wheels,or profiles on tires. Did you see the build up on his personal p/u? First they positioned the new front end at ride height, positioned the frame, and filled in the difference. They still had a heck of a time deciding on wheels, but it was just a matter of cosmetics rather tham fitment. What I do myself is block up the car, remve the front springs, support the lower a frame with a jack set at different hts.and try out different combos[borrowed of course] to see what fits at varios hts. Hope thid helps you, Hank

The more I look into it the more I have noticed its just a matter of lowering springs or coilovers, not a big deal.
Trying to match a wheel tire combo without being sure could cost a bundle and result in having a lot of excess wheels and tires around! LOL
I love the new Hot Rod styling of the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s cars. The lower look with the right wheels/tire combo makes the cars look so tight.
Thanks for the replies,
Wayne

If you match the tire diameter and wheel backspace you have know, then no risk. I buy my wheels and tires from a guy who stocks them. We put the car on the hoist and ensure fitment before I buy them. I'm sure I could by mail order wheels for a bit less, but the service is worth a lot to me, also....Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

The last big wheel and tires I bought the wheel company (dayton wire ) sent me a fitment sheet that I filled out and sent back then they gave me options,I guess most companys ( wheel or tire ) could provide thisTake it easy, and if it's easy take it twice
