Ok Anthony, now we have something to bite into. When you say straight axles, I assume you mean non-independent rear (like regular Fords, Chevies, etc have) and a straight axle front, as in early Fords.
Being a tradionalist, I usually only use cross leaf spring setups in my rods, but there have been many people who have used coilovers ( especially on the rear) with success. One of my cars is using this setup right now on the rear.
I would suggest you pick up a Speedway catalog, as it contains a lot of info on just about every aspect of these suspension systems, and gives a lot of tips also. The local bookstore will also have some "how to build Hot Rod" types of books that will give you a ton of info.
