Question anybody ever put a fatman sub on a 51 shoebox?

    Hi
i've got a 51 shoebox ford, the front end is worn out as is the steering sector, shocks, etc.
i want to lower the car in the front,so i was wondering "what" or if there were any other options.or is fatman the only game in town???
by the way it has a 302 engine in it. would motor mounts be an issue.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
    thanks
    joe

    Hey Joe,

I've spoke to those guys about my 62 UNIBODY & doing the same thing your looking for........I'm trying to attend the Goodguys event later in the month just to actually check them out.

From what I've seen in pix, which is not always the case, it looks real clean & functionable.

I'd like to drive 1 to actually check out all the claims.

thanks for the reply, i too would like to drive one and talk to someone who has done it with their part.
i don't mind telling you that when i talked to them, (his name was richard) he came across as trying to blow me off with do you want it or not.
i asked about oil pans and motormounts, he said that it was not his problem and had no ideal if it was a problem or not.
said i would have to pay for it in advance and they would get to it in the next few weeks.
so i'm kinda looking around to see if they are that great or what.

I got kinda the opposite expir. When I called - not sure who it was, they were very helpful & explained that the system that would end up under my 62 was very similar to what they use in the "shop truck". I explained that I wasn't really interested in changing very cept the front suspn.

I also told them I was considering fab'n up my own R & P for the straight axle but they advised against it due to bump steer issues........I kinda discounted that as I've seen racks in every configuration of drag race car with very workable success.
I'm trying to get up to Charlotte & understand they are going to have a shop tour & stuff......

I'm here in lawrenceville, Ga. - love to see your truck.

    Regs.
