55 Buick front upgrade
Can anyone tell me if they have ever updated the front suspension on a 55 Buick.
I have a 55 Special 2 dr ht ive lined up a 454-T/400 i wnt to fit but i want an independant front i was thinking late 70,s camaro, or maybe later corvette.
The rear is ok with a 9" and tubbed out.
Any help would be graet

You mean a 55 Buick doesn't have independant front suspension?
I think it does....................

Not real familiar with the older Buford's, what is the frame width and the track width on the car now? Another consideration for swap material might be an early 80's Malibu or Caprice front stub....Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

I want to get rid of the king pin front and update with disc brakes.

My choice would be a sub frame from a Gen II Camaro. You get it all.
.....ps,power disc brakes & a sway bar.Don Meyer, PhD-Mech Engr(48 GMC Trk/chopped/cab extended/caddy fins & a GM converted Rolls Royce Silver Shadow).
