At Wits End!!!!!!!!! HELP
WHO: Working on a 32 coupe with straight axle early gm brakes.
PROBLEM: Brakes keep leaking around the banjo bolts.
WHAT: I have replace washers a couple of times. Got new Earls bajo fittings because I thought the stailess Earls lines were hitting against the caliper.
This is about the third or fourth time I have put parts on and bleed the brakes. I am still leaking a little fluid???????

I have experienced this problem. For me, the fix was to lap the washers with water on a sheet of 600 wet/dry sandpaper over a piece of flat plate glass. Just go real easy so you keep the two surfaces parallel and only sand until you can see the sanding marks on both sides of the washer. I found that burrs created when the washers were manufactured were keeping them from sealing. I hope it is this easy to fix your problem.PLANET EARTH, INSANE ASYLUM FOR THE UNIVERSE.

I usually scuff the Banjo fittings and the wahers on a piece of 400 grit sandpaper as Tech suggested before installation to promote sealing... and I've also had aftermarket banjo bolts that were a tad too long....Thanks for the reminder, halftanked!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

look for the washer that have sealing rings on them .some times the face is not square with the threaded part of the banjo the rings will crush this will help any off set .some times the washer is to damn hard and if flat with no sealing rings it will leak. if it is a reman caliper the sealing part can have a bad surface make sure your sealing washers are not to big and hanging out of the machine surfaces . and you are not cupping the washer

I had the same problem with a disc brake kit from Speedway Motors. The calipers were rebuilt GM metric calipers but they were retapped for 7/16 x 20 banjo bolts. The banjo bolts bottomed out against the edge of the piston in the caliper. Ground a little bit off the end of the banjo bolt and that fixed the problem.
