55 Chevy Power Steering Option/Help
I have a 55 Chevy that's driven everyday. My son and I have been restoring it for the past few years. Car drives great now with the past few mofification (Air Ride, 4-Link, 700R4, etc.) and we take it on several tours like Power Tour, Turkey Run, Cusin-the-Coast, etc. However, when I purchased the car it had a 68 Chevelle front clip and power steering. I've already had to work around this with my AirRide, tublar a-arm, etc. but the biggest issue is where the thing is mounted on the frame and how it makes the radiator support need modifications. I want to clean up that area of the car for a future air conditioner (it creates a loss of space in front of the radiator). Does anyone know of option to replace or relocate. The unit needs to be rebuilt but before just rebuilding I'd like to fix this other problem. If I could just reduce the size or move it up on the frame a few inch everything would clear. Hopfully this make some sense and someone has some ideas. Thanks.
