Duane--Thanks for the kind words. When I first got into rod building, I just about went stone crazy trying to get information on things like brackets for batwings, etcetera. I had damn little money to buy aftermarket bracketry, in fact, when I got into the hobby there was a pretty limited supply of aftermarket stuff available---not like it is now. The other issue, (and its a big one), was having a full understanding of exactly how the bracket worked, in terms of active and reactive forces applied to it by the working of the cars suspension, acceleration, etcetera. What material to use, how thick should the material be, what kind of welding to use. Nutter has it right---that info is very difficult to find, and there is a lot of bad and downright unsafe information floating around on the internet. Thats why I did the "how To" thread on frame building, and why I still try to help anyone who asks for it. Itoldyouso's thread is also a perfect example of the right way to build a hotrod---Don shows excellent craftmanship, and very innovative design ideas.---BrianOld guy hot rodder

Ok Ill explain what Im doing Im building a 1915 T C Cab delivery based on Andy brizo's one, Im using all original steel placing it on a jap pick up chassis (mitsubishi) this gives me the low stance for the body because of the kickups at the front & rear (chassis was free) I have removed the front suspension so I can use the super bell tube axle & im using 12 bolt (also free) rear on the chassis original springs, the problem I have is I cant afford the prices of parts over here so I wanted to build some the brackets. to hold the four bars to the chassis is no problem there will be a tube running through the top off the chassis & one off two brackets under the chassis the problem I have is what size steel do I need what angles are they on how far back can I go (mounting of bars) & I also want to run coil overs on the front weather in front or behind the axle. any drawings would be of great help. I will tyr & post some photos so far thanks
