my 91 4x4 S10 solid axle project
well do to winter bordom and everything being packed away for the winter i think i'm going to start on my 91 S10 blazer since its just sitting there. I've been looking into strait axle projects that others have done on a really good site at S10-4x4.org and have been calling around salvage yards looking for a dana 30 front an dana 35 rear from 94 an older jeep wranglers YJ and XJ models CJ 7's might work but don't know but have had no luck but my old boss who deals with used jeep parts but he wants $500.00 and then there is my uncle who has a dana 44 with a ford 9" that he kept from his 76 ford F-150 who wants $200.00 or trade for a ford divorced NP 205 T-case that i have. I plan to moc up the s10 stage west kit for leaf springs front and rear with the springs over the axles and run 33x12.5x15 tires that i have laying around might order rims with a negative backspacing so the wheels don't stick out as far plus ad fender flairs. but for now i'm going to get the axles from my uncle and hunt down parts to hook up the steering. the jeep axles would be nice since the driveshaft yokes are the same and bolt right up along with the steering the jeep pitman arm fits onto the saginaw steering box which then you can hook up your jeep drag link an tierods. but i plan to boogy on this an test it out this spring when things are soft, wet, and muddy it should be a fun daily driver with the new lift.Derek Doble
