9" question
I have a 9" Ford rearend that I had to replace the pinion seal on. My question is, what should I torque the pinion nut to? I've never had to replace one before and I can't find the torque specs for this. I don't want it to start leaking again, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

If it has a crush sleeve, torque to 175 ft. lb. If a solid spacer, 200 ft.lb. Use a new crush sleeve every time.

Everything is back together, I just haven't tightened the pinion nut down yet. I wasn't sure what the specs were on tightening it are.

My Ford manual says, pinion nut torque for all removable carrier rear ends, 1969-1975, (that's the 9") 175 ft.lb. or 200 ft.lb. as above.
The 25 inch pounds is the torque required to turn the pinion shaft when it's all tightened up, not the torque on the nut.
Yep. And I seem to move 1 thing and it displaces something else with 1/2 of that landing on the workbench and then I forgot where I was going with this other thing and I'll see something else that...
