Hello all, New guy with my first post. I have a 30 Chevy coupe I am building a roadster out of and need advice. I have a 32 Chevy Sedan that I built and used four link on the back and a Superride IFS on the front. Rides pretty good but a little choppy. Probably needs more adjustments. But on the 30 , I am thinking of staying with leaf spring suspension on the rear and straight drop axle, mono leaf on the front. What can I expect out of that setup for ride. The IFS is nice but spendy. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

What do you mean buy choppy ? Is it a bounce i too put the Superide in the front of my Model A but am a ways for a drive . Hope its just shock adjustments and tuning .

Pictures of the front end would also help.

Hello, By saying choppy I mean kind of bouncy at times. I get a good ride down the highway with the dampening nob at firm setting and a better ride in town in the soft position. I think I just need some more tweaking. I hope so. I think maybe I didn't ask the question right in my original post . What I was seeking was a comparison between the IFS and the tube axle with spring over and radius rods. Any help?

I never really felt safe going over 80 on an axle & radius in a short wheel base car. If your going to run fenders go with the IFS & leafs in rear and spend some time tuning it. Just feels so much safer at higher speeds and cornering. JMO, Lon

What is IFS? I have a 1936 Chev with leaf springs from a 1950 chev on the rear and I am looking for new shocks. I lowered the car to a standard car hight from what the previous owner had, so his shocks no longer work, so I am having a hard time finding some one to tell me how to determine what shocks to purchase.
