Please help need ideas
Heres my car a 38 chrysler royal, car is complete minus one front fender and grill shroud. I want to put in a v8 and leave the front fenders off. Heres where I lose my ability to in vision. The front suspension is going to be all out in the open, I was just going to sand blast and paint all the components. I am wondering what other options I would have working on a low budget. Also is there some way to convert to disk brakes in the front? Also am thinking about a 2link or 4 link in rear. Any help, suggestions, pics, and ideas will be greatly apreciated.
Thanks

Hey Deno!! First, could you please downsize your pics a bit??? 600X400 works good, lots easier to see a group of pics that way rather then scrolling back and forth across the screen????
Looks like your front suspension crossmember is at the very front of the frame which would make installing an MII type of suspension easy...not sure what you have in mind for a budget....but IMO it would be money well spent in that you would have a good working front suspension with disc brakes and correct geometry.... If you are considering this but can't find a correct width and drop crossmember, I do work with a company that more then likely would have a suitable crossmember....
On the rear end, again it's a matter of budget. Most economical would be to retain and rebuild the leaf springs, relocate the shocks, and install a rear end housing that is a bit more modern and has better parts availability, an 8" or 9" Ford would work good and there is also a very good chance of finding one the correct width and not having to spend the big $$$$$ for a narrowed housing and axles.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

I wouldn't even consider running fenderless on that car but if you must and you are on a tight budget, I would use a beam axle from a 37 to 48 ford. They are cheap and plentiful.
Just my 2 centsGive me something to cut with, I'm going to build a Hotrod

Find a fender. These body styles look pretty goofy fenderless IMO, and I normally don't care for fenders on cars. If you look at the one picture with the fender on it and the tire sitting nice and high in it you will see how good it would look.
With the advent of Ebay all you have to do is have some patience and keep watching and your fender will show up.
