    MII power rack replacement

While waiting for my engine to be rebuilt I decided to inspect and rebuilt my Fat Man front end. Previously emailed them to source parts and they said any parts for the 74 thru 78 MII will work for ball joints, breaks, Bushings, and Power rack. They were right except for the rack. The last guy may have had the same problem for there is bent plumbing and various washers used in the mounting. I want to do it right and tried looking at Jegs, Summitt, FR, and Speedway to find a R&P. I am "Dumb" on this issue. Can someone tell me the critical issues to be considered and their options. The current unit has two bolts thru the crossmember(on 15 and 7/8 centers) no separate bushings. I did see various mounting arrangements available. Are these an option.

I have a Fatman clip on my car and when I received it I asked what type R&P is it. The guy told me its a Ford truck, not a MS11. just a FYI.

I just had a similiar problem looking for a Rack. My Ford F-1 has a Fatman crossmember ( Easy to tell Fatman from the rest, as they use a tubing crossmember and the others seem to use a fabricated crossmember). Fatman's tech guy said they use Racks from Napa ( HUMMMM!!?) from a Mustang II 1974-1978. In my research and from talking to the guy at Fatman he said it should be a 16" center to center bolt spacing. It seems that there are only two different spacings for the Mustangs-- 16" and 15 1/2". I ordered a rack from Flaming River as they seemed to be the only ones with one of the things. The tech guy said it was a 1979 and later MustangII. I was so confused at this point I told them to just send me one. They did and it turned out to be a 15 1/2" center to center spacing.

I was done dealing with all of these people because none of them seem to know what they were talking about. I modified my mounting tabs to fit the Flaming River rack and recorded the parts number just in case I need to replace the one I have in the future, as long as Flaming River stays in business I should be ok.
