    You know in some ways I'm glad I bought a clipped car with gm components. at least I understand the workings, if I had the torqu tube I'd be lost same for the older suspension and flat head, it would require learning totally different technology. however from a value standpoint, I wish my car was more origional. anyone got some good pics of the torque tube set up? I'm curious to see it. I've read a little on it but that's it

    Here is a load of 46 parts I bought from Paul, another member on here. That long tube affair laying across the top of the tires in the first picture is the torque tube. It bridges the distance between the rear end housing and the transmission and encloses the driveshaft. It all moves up and down as a unit.

    All these parts were what your 46 had when it left Henrys factory.

    for old engineering, it looks fairly complicated. thanks for the pics. I can see why a tranny swap is probibly the ticket plus the extra gears
