64 and 65 are shorter then66/67 and is 1 inch pre side but will fit in your 67 and 72 is a bit wider then a 69? i am thinking been some time ago but had to trim the wheel well lips abit. but there all A body cars and fit. i had a 65 tempest and could not use my axles from my 66 longer ..that i just put new wheel bearings on them before i spilt it form pinion to back cover. had two 66 GTOs rear reads and a 69 and72 chevelle 12 bolts in it then went to a ford 9 35 spline locker in my 66 GTO you have both?? get out the measuring stick check them but i know all the 64/65 where not as wide . you know the old add ?wide track pontiac???
