Air Bags ??
Just started a new project last week. This one is a 1935 Diamond T that the plans are to make it a Toter Hauler rig.
Body is going on a Chevy 3500 Dually chassis and will be the new home for my Lance camper. I want to this truck to have a stand alone Air Bag rear suspension. The Lance is heavy at 4,429 lbs, so I am trying to get air bags rated heavy enough for this load. And that brings up a couple of questions;
There are dozens and dozens of companys selling air bags, however no where can I find a rating for these bags in lbs. Plenty of bags in the 2,500 lb range but I'm looking heavier. Something like the ones on the drive axle's of 18 wheelers. I believe these are in the 18,000 lb range but just can not find any information. Anyone know a place to look for specs?
Also any one know if the bags if run dual on one rear wheel, say the 2,500 lb bag and if I ran two of these at each rear wheel, would that double the carring capacity? or do they even work like that?
Thanks RolandProtected people will never know or understand the intensity life can be lived at. To do that you must complettly and totally understand the meaning of the word "DUCK"

Roland, Firestone makes a huge selection of air bags!!! If you can find it on the net or a parts guy at a truck shop that's a Hot Rodder should be able to find exactly the rating you want!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Wow what a nice cab to start out with.
You could try some of the big rig shops as well.
Though I am not sure what you are looking at weight wise.
But just about all the new big rigs have some type of air bags on them now.
They are even put them on gas tanker trailers so they can drop thier trailer down to help off load all of the fuel so it is completely empty.
Plus they can tell you what compressors will be best and all for what you need.

Might take a look at the motor home industry. My Winnebago had air bags front and rear.Don D
