    49 Poncho disc conversion

does anyone know what vehicle would be compatible to swap disc brakes onto a 1949 pontiac silver streak? I want to do a conversion without having to buy a kit if possible
    .
I've also been tossing around the idea of a chassis swap with an S10 but was wondering if there are other cars that would be a good match wheelbase etc. already with a small block. so I can lift the body & fabio it on.
I'm not looking for a show car just a smooth reliable baby mobile for my wife to drive

Any info to do with these cars would be greatly appreciated.

I doing a 52 Pontiac Fleetleader/Chieftain. Ecklers has a kit for the front disc on the factory suspension. And I believe there is a MII kit (49-52 Chevy kit) from www.nolimit.net in Cali. I'm still in the research phase. Post what you find.

Paul Horton's Welder Series is excellent. He has kits for almost everything. You just weld together and the prices are quite reasonable.

    Paul Horton's Welder Series

    Easy to follow instructions.

1949 - 1954 Chev and Canadian Pontiac use the 56" kit.
