Ford reverse power steering noise..
I have a Ford reverse power steering conversion on my 57 Willy's CJ5 with a 283 sbc. I am running 32x11.5.15 tires. The PS pump is a remanufactured GM pump. When I turn the wheels to either extreme I hear a shrieking noise coming from somewhere near the front (engine area). Does this noise indicate anything wrong with either the pump or steering box or is it normal? I suspect not normal since none of my other vehicles make that noise. It steers well enough although there is some wander likely related to the long tie rod setup of these types of vehicles (not rack and pinion). All components are new..
Thanks,
Paul
