With bigs & littles running a spare just doesn't work, and besides where to put them? One of my rear tires won't even fit the trunk, and if I had a truck I wouldn't want a spare or two cluttering the bed all the time. I carry a big can of Slime "fix-a-flat" as a possible emergency inflation, or can call for help.Roger

Most truck guys don't run big and littles--most are same or close to size front and rear.
A item to consider IF the fronts and rears are different sizes---a posi or traction lock rear vehicle will need the spare to be the same roll out as the normal rear because of the posi action----------
Currie lists redrilling 2 customer axles at $35
And----------for rodders who want to drive the country(non trailer queens) with big and littles or or more equal sized tires-----there are considerations in the build of what the trunk will be used for---things vying for the limited cubes are baggage, rumble seat, spare tire and what I don't like to see--a trunk mounted gas tank---however, a slime bottle is probably wiser choice than patch kit, spare inner tube, tire pump, hammer and tire irons that we used to carry-------oh, do you carry a jack that will lift your car safely?????????

'cept if you have nice wheels, a bottle of slime really screws them up....but it does get you rolling again.

Just rolled in from Great Greybeards Adventure to LA Roadster Show. Have big and littles on a 40, carry one spare that is sized just between the two, would use it to limp to a decent town. Carried two jacks, full set of tools, water, tow strap, jumper cables, electrical repair items, fuel hose, fan belts, and a bunch of luggage, O2 bottles and walker for the wife. Did not have any problems but my items were used by several in the group to keep them going. If you live in the West/Southwest, towns can be a long way from your breakdown and cell service nonexistent for your AAA. You have to rely on yourself and the ones with you. Our trip had a great group of true Hot Rodders!!!

In my experience almost everything other than bone stock is running some form of "bigs & littles" - not to the extreme of mine, but many, many today run a couple of inch drop in wheel size from rear to front, and rears that are wider by two to ten inches, and that includes trucks. I don't think I've seen much of anything with four wheels & tires matching at a show in a looooooooong time. As for carrying a jack, if you're not carrying a spare why carry a jack? Now for the Greybeards trip? Yeah, I'd probably carry more "stuff" just in case....Roger

Well, being one of the trailer queen guys, I like my trailer, lots of room to carry whatever I want and maybe even bring a few goodies home if there's a swap meet or something like it nearby the gathering. I also enjoy having the extra room to take along friends and family, a grille and some charcoal, lawn chairs, etc, etc, etc. Don't be looking down your nose at trailer queens till you've tried it and realize that travelling with a toter and a good enclosed trailer is a very nice way to get there, also.....Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!
