    Install 40 rearend

     



    Ok got a 31 model-a with a stock 31 rear found a 40 rear end to replace it can I set that up without the motor and tranny in the car and still get the pinon angle right and what would the right angle be where do I start thanks guy's.

    As far as I know.. it should be a torque tube, no pinion angle to worry about.

    Unless it's been converted. We'll need model a man to come back with more data.

    Your pinion should tilt up at an angle equal to the degree the transmission tilts down. They should be equal, but opposite angles so that the u-joints are traveling at the same angles front & rear.

    Ok so I guess I need the tranny in the car to what I should do is just put the motor tranny in to be on the safe side.
