spring perchfor 2" spring?
hello all,
i am using a 46 ford front i beam under my 29 model a and splitting the wish bone, the spring i found is 35 3/4" eye to eye, with spring perch centers of 40 1/2" on the axle, i think the length will work my question is speedway told me the spring is 2" wide and all of the perches they sell say, for use on 1 3/4" wide spring, does anybody make a perch for 2" wide spring, trying to find out before i order spring, thanks for any help on this.

No 2" front perches I'm aware of, mainly because there's just about no market for them. Not sure why you're using that axle. It causes a few other problems for early cars that should be considered. Splitting the bones with that wide perch bolt centers will cause interference with the tires and impact your turning radius. Also, that later axle is an inch or two wider at the king pin centers (depending on compared axle) than the original axles so with fenders the tires will be out too far, without fenders it's less of a problem but looks ungainly.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

You're looking for something like this, right?

I expect that Uncle Bob's advice is dead on target, as he's forgotten more about these parts than I've ever known but if you're still looking you might call Jason Slover at Pete & Jakes, and see if he stocks them, knows where to find them or can fab them for you.
