spring perch for 46 ford wishbone

    hello all,
would like split and use a 1946 ford wishbone that i have with my 4 inch drop axle in a spring over application, my problem is that all of the spring perches that i can find the shoulder from the taper to the threads is to short and leaves threaded section in the lower part of the wishbone, any ideas i am stuck and sure would appreciate some advice, thanks

It sounds like you're switching to a spring over instead of spring in front setup (?) such as in '28-34. That's a common problem, the upper flange on the '46 is about twice as thick as the original wish bone was. What most guys do, particularly if trying to use the common lower shock mount bracket, is mill about 1/4-3/8 (this is off the top of my head, measuring would be advised) off the top of the upper flange and then put a new taper in for the perch pin to seat.
