QA1 Pro Coil for Mustang II

My 40 Ford Coupé have Mustang II IFS with stock (OEM) control arms.
I need to change the springs and are considering getting QA1 pro coil spring system for the Mustang II where the top of the spring rests in the stock spring pocket.
Do anybody have experience with these?
Do I need to change the lower control arms?

Short answer . . . no. Have you looked at the QA-1 Specifications for stock M-II coil-over conversions?

However, you should weigh the front end of your car to determine the proper spring rate.

I guess what I’m really asking, is the QA1 Pro Coils worth the (extra) money, or should I go with Stock springs and good quality (QA1) shocks?

OK. Different question - different answer. I had a M-II front suspension on this sedan. It had a 454 Chevy, toploader 4-speed and a 9" Ford rear. Coil-overs on the back and a fairly stock front end with good shocks. It rode and drove like a dream. I had it up to 119 mph on the dragstrip. Still, weigh your front end to get the right spring rate.

Same answer different version. I "played" with the springs / shocks in my coupe... my life would've been so much easier had I taken the car to a scale!

Don't guess at the weight, it can make the end product a winner or a loser in a minute. I did try the QA1 products, I got frustrated and pulled'em out and worked with the AFCO guys (aka Speedway) who were very helpful.
