springs replacement
Anyone have a favorite spring manufacturer to recommend?
I want to get the nomad closer to stock height, maybe a one inch lift in back. I want the front at factory, and get rid of the spacers in the rear..

Look in your area for a spring shop that makes springs from raw stock, take the Nomad to them and tell them what you want to end up with.Roger

Thx all
Tried the custom spring thing, went to Columbus Spring downtown Columbus, but they only make custom leaf springs, and said "no one makes custom coil springs for cars, just trucks".

They may not make them on site, but they make them in bulk for special order based on weight and key dimensions - Automotive Coil Springs - AMC, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chevrolet Truck, Chrysler, Dodge, Dodge Truck, Ford, Ford Truck
You need to find a shop that wants the business.Roger

I just got the new wheels on. I lost a lot of curve appeal by ditching the wide rear rims, but now I have loads of clearance again. Made a HUGE difference in ride, as two of the wheels were bent.
Next is to order springs.
I'm leaning towards stock minus half inch in front, and heavy duty stock height rear.
The heavy duty in rear will be good when I've got the trailer loaded down, but how rough will they be when I'm not towing?Last edited by firebird77clone; 05-30-2015 at 09:38 AM.

Ah, the horror of financial prudence!
New springs for the chevelle, or new pump for the Jacuzzi!.

The Jacuzzi doesn't get used much anyway. It can sit for now.
Just placed an order with Detroit spring.
Height is Front -1/2" , rear stock..

You said "CURVE appeal".. Did you mean you intend to go slalom with the car?
Or, perhaps you meant "CURB appeal"? The way the car looks settin' still?

Ha.. curb appeal is what I meant to type.
Eaton's springs are in. I don't think I got the drop I was looking for in the front. Had to wait for two weeks over original delivery promised.
I think I'd prefer drop spindles over cutting the springs. Anybody got a favorite for spindles?.

I'd suggest you let it set for awhile.. springs tend to "settle" after awhile. Besides, ain't it time to jump into the jacuzzi?
A "skip" = a dumpster.... but he says it's proper english??? Oh.. Okay. Most of us can see the dating site pun, "matching" with an arsonist.. But a "SKIP? How is that a box? It must all be...
