Baggin' the '51
Looking for a little input, I want to bag my '51 Chevy. I'm running a Monte Carlo front clip so I pretty much know what I need to do there. My question is on the rear, I have a '57 rear end with leaf springs and lowering blocks. I would like to go to a 10 bolt limited slip and bags. I have heard a lot of different things....4 link verses ladder bar. I don't want to lose my ride quality and I don't have a clue what I should use. I am pretty low now but I won't stop untill I can put my skirts on the ground. It would be nice to jack her up a little when necessary, for example to get into my driveway or just to keep from high centering on speed bumps Your help would be greatly appreciated.

HI , you might go here as they have kits for about any ride around, and alot of different setups:

Or you might even get some ideas on how you might be able to make something work.

consider a 2 link set-up and panhard bar. These are extremly easy to bould and allow massive amounts of travel in both positions. I've done about 30 of these and can assist you. Your biggest descision is weither to tub into bed or trunk. Let me know!

Thanks, that's what I'm talking about. I am not much of a "kit" guy so building it myself is right up my alley. Do I need to chop the rear frame? Tubbing is not a problem since I need to do a little floor pan work anyway. I have access to a machine shop if need be and I have everything else here at the house. I just need to know where to start. I am still in the planning and parts gathering mode right now and trying to get all my homework done before I start choppin'.STAND BACK! I have a torch and I'm not afraid to use it!
How much did Santa have to pay for his sleigh? Nothing! It's on the house! .
