Major bad idea! Either use a lowering block (if the axle is on top of the spring, otherwise you raise it) like Matt says (shouldn't go over 3"), or take the springs to a spring shop and have them re-arched so they're flatter. If the spring mounts to the top of the axle, then get a "flip kit" which is designed to put the axle on top of the spring, gives about a 4" drop. You can find them advertised in any of the truckin' magazines.
