Denny? Thunderbucket?
Hey Thunderbucket, Denny, or anyone else in the know.. I finally got the T-Bird up on ramps.. Man that was hard.. Took about 2 hours!! It just shoves the ramps away and if you somehow make it 90% up them they spit out like a watermellon seed.. scary!
I drilled the tranny pan to drain it (will TIG the hole).
Dained alot.
I pulled the filter.
More draining.
I pulled the 62 bolts out to drop the valve body and separator plate.
More draining.
And was surprized to see gaskets on both sides of the separator plate!! Didn't remember that there were any here.
More draining.
My question: Can I reuse these gaskets if they look okay? Or is this a BIG no, no. I was surprised to see that the service manual I have, said DO NOT replace the pan filter or the pan gasket if they aren't actually damaged.... (manual sez nuttin about the separator gasket tho)

WOW. After tearing the the valve body and separator plate out.
I drilled a few holes bigger, changed some springs, changed a spool valve, added a relief valve, added another spring, and a circuit board in the oil pan.
It worked! No more shudder and excellant, tighter, quicker, shifts.
Now instead of the engine kicking from 4th to 2nd it drops into 3rd on the way to second.
I'm stoked!
I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
