Ford AOD questions
Is the 4th gear on an AOD tranny electronic? Aside from the normal shifting lever on the side of the tranny, there is a 4 prong elect connection. Is there some type of relay, or something that I need. The donor vehicle for the tranny is a 1983 ford E-150 van. Should I grab that part of the wiring harness?
The trans is behind a '72 351C in a 56 ford customline. I will be using a painless or equiv. wiring harness. Thanks.

Hmm. Thanks for the article. I thought the AOD would be a better choice over a C4. I didnt realize that the AOD had its issues. I will be running about 300-350 hp. with a 4.11 posi. I wanted the extra gear for better highway speeds. Any opinions? I cant spend alot of money re-working the AOD to make it perform better. I didnt know that you had to go from 1st to drive and back to find second. Thats sound really wierd. I better read the article again. Thanks Again.
Yep. And I seem to move 1 thing and it displaces something else with 1/2 of that landing on the workbench and then I forgot where I was going with this other thing and I'll see something else that...
