    C6 mount? Please help

Can someone please help me. I have a C6 trans (i think) but it doesnt have the normal 2 holes by the beggening of the extention housing for the mount. What it has is 2 tabs farther back on the sides. Does anyone know what the difference is with the trans I have and what mount I should be looking for. I cant seem to find it anywhere. Is this transmission better or worse or is it just a different housing. Can someone please help me. Any kind of help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I don't think the C6 came out until 1966, so if this is out of your '64 Galaxie, it may be a FMX or some other variant.

Please explain to us exactly what it is that you're trying to do.

It's not originally from the '64, my father in law gave it to me. He told me it came out of a 78 lincoln. It was bolted to a 460. I'll get the tag #. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Please explain to us exactly what it is that you're trying to do. If you're trying to bolt the C6 into the '64 Galaxie, call these guys and order a trans crossmember extension.

Geez, I don't know, is it just me??? If a guy would just say what he is trying to do in the first place, it would be so much easier to help him.

If it came from a 70s lincoln it can not be used in a ford or a merc as it has a totally different mount, you can not replace the tailshaft housing easily as the lincoln C-6 has a longer output shaft then the ford and merc C-6s. I bought a 460 and C-6 from a 76 lincoln to put in a 71 country squire and I had the same trans,I had to buy one from a ford to work. Jeff
