    TH 350 help needed

Drove the 39 to a local show saturday and on the way home it poped out of gear (new transmission). I pulled over and messed with the Lokar shifter figuring that maybe I had bumped it enough to take it out of gear. Pulled it down into first and it engaged, second gear same thing but wont actually shift up to second. Same with drive now, wont shift up out of first. Reverse also works fine.

Ive checked the vacuum line and it is fine. What could be the problem? One of my neighbors said it might be the govenor (broken spring). I know nothing of the workings of an automatic. Any ideas?

If it was the linkage would'nt it not engage 1st gear in "drive"?

Vacuum is good to the modulator. No oil or smoke from the modulator. I had the RPMs up pretty good and she wouldnt up shift out of first at all.

Sounds like the governor gear is apple cored. If it is just replace the gear.
