    Transmission choices

I am looking for an overdrive transmission to hook up to a mild sbc engine (250-300hp). I was wondering what makes there are available to use. I was also wondering if there are lock-up converter types to help with gas mileage. Thanks.

You can go with a 700R4 or with a 200-4R. If you go with a 700, look for one that was made from 86 on up. If under car space is an issue go with the 200-4R. For the power of your motor it would be a good choice.
