Transmission I.D.
I have a 1955 Ford Crown Vic w/a 1957 292 Block and 1957 312 Heads. I cannot figure out what transmission I have. It has a 14 bolt pan. I ordered a pan gasket and was told it was a short trans. numbers are: plate on side of trans. which has been scrubbed clean except for 94819 stamped in it. Casting has WG DIV, 50-1. Tail has WG DIV 3H-7. On top of torque converter housing is PAR 7975. Any ideas? JDH

WG DIV is Warner Gear Division. Ford built Warner transmissions under licence, calling them Fordomatics. It's probably the original box for your '55.

I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
